Q. Why should I switch to a Practice Track website?

From now on, this team will only be supplying content for Practice Track’s website service. You can therefore trust the content on a Practice Track site.

Practice Track websites are just £149 per month, whatever the size of your firm, there is no excessive notice period, and normally no set-up fee.

Q. Will I be able to keep my current URL (website address)?
A. In virtually all cases, yes, as you probably own your own domain name.
Q. I like my current design. Can I keep it?
A. Yes. We can simply replicate your current site, or use it as a guide for building a new design.
Q. Will there be any copyright issues?
A. No. We will be rebuilding your site, not just hosting the same one. All the content on your site is copyright of Practice Track. If you have paid somebody to design your site, you may own the right to the design. We can therefore replicate this design if you wish to keep it. Alternatively, we will build a new design that retains your corporate style. So there will be no copyright issues in any case.
Q. How much will it cost to switch to Practice Track?
A. Switching is free. There is no set-up or transfer charge. You will only have to pay anything if you wish us to create Flash moving imagery, or if you make an unusually large number of edits after we have built your site.
Q. Our current providers offer a particular feature. I like it, but you don’t offer it. Can I add this to my site?
A. It may well be possible for us to ‘plug-in’ additional features not offered in our standard package. Just ask us and we’ll see what we can do!
Q. Will my website just be a 'template' service?
A. No. Each Practice Track site is individual and unique.
Q. Will switching my website affect my email service?
A. No. The chances are that if you already have a website then your email hosting will be managed elsewhere. Your website and email hosting are usually provided by different suppliers. When your website is switched to us, all we ask is that the website portion of your domain (known as the A records) are pointed to our servers, so moving your site to us will not affect your email set up in any way.
Q. How do I make the switch to Practice Track?
A. You may have a notice period with your current provider. If you give notice with them when you order, we can be building the site while you serve out this period. We can then make your site live as soon as your notice expires, and billing will begin at this point.
Alternatively, if you have a very long notice period, you can switch to us as soon as your site is live, and we will not charge you until your notice with your current provider expires.
Switching is very easy: we will give you an IP address, which you can forward to your domain host. They will make the switch, and in a few hours your new site will be visible at your address. There will be no 'down time' while your site is switched across. If you don’t know your domain host, we can help you find them!
